Flower Tea — where leaf meets blossom
Tea scented with flowers, or flowers brewed on their own. One is the art of letting tea borrow a blossom's fragrance while keeping its own backbone; the other is a pure cup belonging to the petals alone.

Origins
The art of scenting has deep roots in China, its finest expressions being jasmine and lotus tea. In Vietnam, West Lake lotus tea is a heritage — Bach Diep lotus scenting green tea by one of the most painstaking handcrafts there is.
Alongside stand the pure flower teas: chrysanthemum, rose, honeysuckle, artichoke — close to herbal infusions, treasured for their colour, scent and gentle nature.
Colour · Aroma · Taste
Scented tea keeps the base of the tea (usually green) but lays over it a clear yet delicate floral layer — jasmine sweet and full, lotus high and quietly deep.
Pure flower teas give a clear cup of light colour, soft aroma and a cool, clean taste, mostly without astringency — easy to drink and restful.
The craft
Scenting demands catching the flower just as it opens, when its fragrance is strongest, then layering tea and blossom so the leaf “drinks in” the scent over many nights. West Lake lotus tea may be scented up to seven times, the lotus stamens renewed each round — a single kilo needs thousands of blooms.
Pure flower teas turn on harvesting at the right moment and drying with great care — in shade or gentle heat — to hold the fragile colour and scent of the petals.
Ritual & culture
Brew flower tea with water that is not too fierce, so the fragrance is never shocked. A well-made pot of lotus tea is a meditative moment: the scent leads the breath to slow, and the mind settles of itself.
Flower tea is the gentle one — right for late afternoon, for the moment you need a light cup to let the day's tension go.
